In accordance with the directive from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA), the Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM) requires that all companies must declare any expatriate who has departed Malaysia.
Procedure before leaving Malaysia:
i. Companies must submit Shorten Pass application for expatriates who are permanently leaving Malaysia.
ii. Upon issuance of the Shorten Pass, please email to [email protected].
iii. Pass holders are required to ensure that the Shorten Pass remains in their possession throughout the departure process and present it upon request.
Exit Clearance for Expired Pass Holders
Effective 20/11/2025, all companies are obligated to complete the expatriate's Exit Clearance via the XPATNOVA system for Employment Pass (EP) and Professional Visit Pass (PVP).
• The Exit Clearance must be submitted within 30 days from the pass expiry date.
Please ensure that the exit declaration is submitted promptly and accurately upon the expatriate’s departure to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
Kindly note that this arrangement shall remain effective until further instructions or any official directive from Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM).
